Taking Accents Beyond Identity Politics: A Challenge

Rey Chow is Anne Firor Scott Professor of Literature and current Director of the Program in Literature at Duke University. She is the author of nine monographs, including Not Like a Native Speaker: On Languaging as a Postcolonial Experience, and the coeditor of the recently published volume Sound Objects. Her books and articles, on modern literature, film and visuality, and cross-cultural representational politics, have been translated into numerous languages. Chow’s new monograph, A Face Drawn in Sand: Humanistic Study, with Foucault, circa 2020, is forthcoming.
