Disability as Accent, Accent as Disability

Pooja Rangan is Associate Professor of English in Film and Media Studies at Amherst College. Rangan is the author of Immediations: The Humanitarian Impulse in Documentary (Duke UP 2017) and numerous articles on the ethical and political preoccupations of contemporary documentary culture. In 2019, she received the American Comparative Literature Association’s Harry Levin Prize for Outstanding First Book. In 2020-2021 Rangan will be an ACLS Frederick Burkhardt Fellow in residence at the Center for Media, Culture, and History at NYU, completing a book titled Audibilities: Documentary and Sonic Governance.
